Twitter
Twitter is a service for staying connected to friends, family, and organizations (or even the Aurora Public Library) through the exchange of quick, frequent messages. Users can write short messages, often called “Tweets” of 140 characters or less. These tweets are posted on the user’s profile page, which can be viewed by other users or even sent as text messages to their mobile phones.
The library is using Twitter to tweet book recommendations each day. To view our Tweets, simply go to
www.twitter.com/auroralibrary
. You don’t even have to join Twitter to view the recommendations. Links to our Twitter page are also available throughout the library’s website on the left-hand side under “Social.” Simply click on the Twitter link.
If you’d like to receive the tweets as text messages you’ll have to create an account at
www.twitter.com/signup
. Once you have an account, you can also search for other people or organizations to follow. Or even begin tweeting yourself.
For more in depth information about using Twitter, you can visit the
Getting Started
sections of Twitter’s website.
